I’m happy to share that my homemade cold porcelain clay recipe, previously introduced through my YouTube Membership, is now available as a standalone video lesson with a one-time purchase.
Over the past several months, I’ve been experimenting with different ingredients and proportions, making small adjustments along the way.
A little more firmness while shaping, better flexibility after drying, less shrinkage… There’s always something I’d like to improve!
Finding the right balance between smoothness, flexibility, strength, and shape retention isn’t easy. There’s still room for improvement, but I’ve finally developed a clay that I enjoy using in my own flower-making projects.
Homemade Clay with Everyday Materials

The main ingredients are simple, easy-to-find materials such as wood glue (PVA glue) and starch. No special equipment is needed, and you can make fresh clay at home whenever you need it.
It feels a little different from commercial cold porcelain clay, but it has good flexibility and works well for delicate flowers in soft, pale colors.
I often blend my homemade clay with lightweight air-dry clay, adjusting the proportions to achieve the texture and softness I want for different types of flowers.
What’s Included in the 4 Video Lessons

In addition to showing how to make the clay, I also share comparisons with other cold porcelain clays, blending it with lightweight clay, shaping petals, examples of finished flowers, and tips for working with clay after storage.
- Introduction to the materials
- Making the clay: measuring, heating, and storage
- Comparing homemade and commercial clays (shrinkage and color), with flower examples
- Checking the clay after one month and adjusting clay that has become too firm
I’ve organized the content into four videos that are easy to follow, even if you’re making your own clay for the first time. Written notes covering the ingredients, measurements, and steps are also provided alongside the videos.
A One-Time Purchase, No Subscription Required
This new lesson is available on Gumroad, a platform for digital products. Unlike my monthly YouTube Membership, this is a one-time purchase, so you can revisit the lessons and learn at your own pace without a subscription.
Both English and Japanese versions are available. The videos have no spoken audio, so you can simply follow along with the visuals and subtitles.
It all started with a simple thought: Wouldn’t it be nice if I could make my own clay for flowers?
I hope this lesson brings a little inspiration to anyone who would like to try making their own cold porcelain clay or explore new materials for their flower-making projects. ☺️
You can find more details about the lesson and how to get started on the information page below.
