Hello, I’m

Hana

I create cold porcelain clay flowers in my small atelier in Japan.

I develop original clay flower tools and produce video lessons, sharing tips and inspirations for flower-making through this site.

I love taking my time with crafting and going on walks to enjoy the seasonal blooms. The moments I spend with flowers always bring a quiet calm to my heart.

A Shift Toward Simple Beauty

A wish to fill my home with flowers

I have enjoyed creating in many forms — fresh flower arrangements, artificial flowers, and lightweight clay. Being able to share easy, accessible arrangements with so many people through YouTube is a memory I still hold dear.

As I continued making, my interest gradually shifted — from the joy of combining many different flowers to a desire to display the quiet beauty of each single bloom, just as it is.

“Perhaps what I really want is to be with the flowers themselves.”

That thought brought cold porcelain to mind. With its translucency, softness, and beautiful color — and the freedom to choose my own colors, sizes, and the way each flower blooms — cold porcelain felt like a magical material to me. Drawn into the world of clay flowers, a craft long beloved in Japan, I fell in love with making flowers all over again.

The Joy of Creating

Time spent tending to each flower

Although I had some experience with lightweight clay, there was a gap of over ten years, and cold porcelain felt entirely different. There were many days of trial and error as I relearned tools and techniques from scratch — yet the process of stripping away the unnecessary and quietly shaping the stillness within each bloom became a source of daily comfort and joy.

Tools and materials

Work in progress

I often found that the tools and materials I needed simply didn’t exist, so I began making them myself. Most of the tools I create are molded from real flowers and leaves — I observe their shapes and veins closely, always looking for ways to capture nature’s delicate beauty in clay.

Honoring the uniqueness in every maker

There are as many styles of making as there are people. A humble piece from a beginner, a casual craft made for fun, a work refined down to the smallest detail — each carries the maker’s heart, and that is truly wonderful. Differences in taste exist, but comparison and competition do not.

Making because you love it — that feeling alone is enough to bring beauty to any creation.

Without rushing, without comparing yourself to anyone — making the flowers you love, when you want, at your own pace. That quiet pleasure is one of the true charms of this craft. I myself am still very much learning, and I hope to share the tools and small discoveries that have emerged along the way.

Bringing a little joy

Through my content and shop, I am giving shape — one by one — to the information I wished I had and the tools I longed for when I first started making clay flowers. With deep gratitude to everyone who has passed this craft down through the years, I hope to be someone’s spark or support along the way.

Through clay flowers, may your everyday life be touched
by small moments of inspiration and the gentle ease of a quiet breath.
